My name is Mindy Steinlicht and I was born and raised in Anaconda, MT. I am the second of eight children and learned at an early age that I love coaching, teaching, and showing people how to do new things. When I was 12 years old, my youngest sister was born with Down Syndrome. She has shaped my life decisions since that day. I have had the pleasure of getting to work with students with special needs and their families for over 25 years.

I earned my Bachelor and Master Degree in special education from Idaho State University in 1995 and 1996. I taught in American Falls at the high school for 10 years before joining the team here at Connor Academy in 2006. I believe my life experiences and my education give me a unique perspective that allows me to better understand students who struggle, not only with academics, but also with attention concerns, emotional frustrations, and inappropriate behaviors.

I am fortunate to have an amazing, hardworking team. Our
special education department includes competent teaching assistants and behavior therapists, as well as speech/language therapists, an occupational therapist, and a physical therapist for students who qualify for extra assistance. Mrs. Chandler, my co-teacher, and I work closely to provide excellent special education services in order to support teachers and enhance student growth.

If you have concerns and/or questions regarding your child's learning, please email me. I enjoy the challenge of helping students find their way!
