Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, The Academy will implement a daily 60-second moment of silence at the beginning of each school day in accordance with House Bill 623 (H623), passed by the Idaho Legislature in 2026.
This brief moment will provide students and staff with an opportunity for quiet reflection at the start of each school day.
During this time, students may quietly choose to:
Reflect
Meditate
Pray
Engage in another silent activity of their choosing
Students choose how they use this time. State law prohibits schools and staff from instructing students on how they should use the time. Staff may begin and end the 60-second period and maintain a respectful, distraction-free environment.
Schools may continue to enforce normal classroom expectations related to respectful behavior and minimizing disruptions so that all students have the opportunity to quietly use this time as they choose.
