✨ Connor Academy Teacher Spotlight ✨

Open a new chapter with us as we shine a spotlight on Mrs. Megan Eddie!

Mrs. Eddie has been a valued part of Connor Academy for over 16 years. She began as a dedicated “book fair mom,” then served as a kindergarten educational assistant for three years, and has spent the past 12 years teaching both kindergarten and in the library.

Her favorite part of teaching is the students and sharing great literature with them. It’s no surprise that literature is her favorite subject to teach. When she was a student, her favorite subject was health.

Family is everything to Mrs. Eddie. She has been married to her husband, Cam, for 27 years, and together they have three children—Taylor, Ashton, and Peri—as well as a wonderful son-in-law, Callen. They enjoy spending time outdoors and going on adventures together, as well as relaxing at home.

In her free time, she enjoys baking, cleaning and organizing, watching old movies, and reading. She especially loves Little Women in every version, both books and films.

Mrs. Eddie is inspired by her Grammy, who at 97 years old has been a role model for how to be a loving wife, mother, and teacher. Her guiding philosophy is to love and lead with kindness and to laugh along the way.

She feels lucky to be part of Connor Academy and wants all Connor students to know:
“I will always love you!”

We are grateful for Mrs. Eddie and the warmth, dedication, and love she brings to Connor Academy each day!

¡Todos demos un gran saludo a la Señora Romney!

Meet Señora Romney, a valued member of Connor Academy who teaches both Computer Science and Spanish with passion and care. She has been part of the Connor family for the past two years, bringing warmth, creativity, and a genuine love of learning into her classroom each day.

Before joining Connor, she taught music in Michigan for three years, where she especially cherished leading Middle School Band. Those years in music education hold a special place in her heart, as she found joy in helping students discover confidence, teamwork, and expression through music.

Her favorite part of being a teacher is seeing the moment when learning “clicks” for students and they are able to demonstrate mastery. She values scheduled breaks that allow time to explore the world, believing there is always more to learn beyond the classroom.

When she was a student, music was her favorite subject, and she continues to play a variety of instruments, including the tuba, euphonium, trombone, bass trombone, string bass, piano, and ukulele.

Señora Romney shares:
“Soy de Oregón. Tengo cinco hijos. Tengo siete gallinas. Me encanta viajar. Me encanta aprender. Mi color favorito es el verde. I am from Oregon. I have five children. I have seven hens. I love to travel. I love to learn. My favorite color is green.”

She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) at Idaho State University. Outside of education, she enjoys traveling the world and exploring different cultures through their cuisine.

Inspired by Fred Rogers, Señora Romney’s mission is to ensure every student feels valued and supported. She strives to create a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and build the confidence to step outside their comfort zones.

Thank you Señora Romney, for creating a classroom where learning is an adventure and every student knows they belong!

Why was the math book sad? Because it had too many problems!

Luckily, Mr. Casey Hyde is here to help solve them! Meet Alpine Academy’s new 7th Grade Math teacher, who is bringing his love of math, science, baseball, and plenty of dad jokes to the classroom!

This is Mr. Hyde’s first year teaching, and after spending several years in a different career, he can’t wait to begin his teaching journey.

Mr. Hyde is looking forward to helping students reach their goals, discover their potential, and see how they can be mathematicians in the real world. His favorite subjects from college included analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, calculus, and biochemistry/molecular biology, so it’s safe to say he loves learning!
Outside the classroom, Mr. Hyde enjoys coaching youth baseball, playing adult softball, camping, hiking, fishing, and going on adventures with his wife, Kelsee, and their four kids. When it comes to movies, Mr. Hyde is all about the “popcorn flicks”—give him some action, adventure, and comedy, and he’s happy! He’s also proudly admitted to being a bit of a Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel nerd. When it comes to reading, Mr. Hyde usually sticks with nonfiction. However, his family recently convinced him to step outside his usual reading territory and listen to the Harry Potter audiobooks for the very first time. To his surprise, he has to admit…he’s actually having a lot of fun with them!

One of Mr. Hyde’s biggest inspirations is baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr. Growing up watching Griffey play, he admired his integrity, loyalty, and work ethic—qualities Mr. Hyde hopes to bring into his own classroom and life.

One thing students can definitely expect in Mr. Hyde’s classroom? Plenty of well-timed, groan-worthy dad jokes. He loves a good pun almost as much as he loves a good scientific article or baseball game!
Help us give Mr. Casey Hyde a warm Alpine welcome! We’re excited to have him on the team and can’t wait to see the impact he makes this year!

At one point, she had four children under the age of three—and even three in diapers at the same time—which she proudly survived!
